Our stay at Pink Flamingo was certainly (again) a very nice moment. You have a real jewel there, and i can’t think not to come back, and this time to enjoy diving. Besides the really beautiful gardens and villas, what i really enjoy there is the atmosphere and how you make guests feel not in a resort but like at a friend’s home. That’s your trademark and hope you will be able to keep it. I have never experienced it in any other place though is just what i am after! It was the first time Philippe came to Australia and i am just afraid he felt in love with your country, Port Douglas and Pink Flamingo!!

Feeling at home

what a shock to the system, we arrived back in Melbourne to only 8 degrees!!! Freezing, wet & windy, so good to be home??? Maryann and I would like to thank you both sooooooo much for making us feel so at home at the Flamingo and being such a big part of another wonderful Port Douglas holiday. I have attached a couple of pictures which we hope you like. We will make sure that we put lots of nice things onto Trip Advisor in the next couple of days and we will keep in touch. Take care and we can’t wait until we all share another glass or two around the pool bar.

Port Douglas CARNIVALE 2010

A Taste of Port

Carnivale 2010 is nearly here. Commencing Thursday 20 May with the Gala Opening at the Sugar Wharf there are 40 events with something to suit everyone; some free and some ticketed. This year there has been an emphasis on cuisine and there are a number of new events in this category including the Food Fight and Palates of Port which are Chamber events with any profits returning to Carnivale.

The Carnivale Club is a new innovation aimed at providing a variety of events at the one location – the Sugar Wharf. It is an important addition to Carnivale and proceeds from these events will support other events such as the Street Parade and Beach day. Dont miss ‘The Gala’ opening on 20 May the first glam event at the Sugar Wharf!

I am back in the UK now- Katherine as you know was staying on for a year in Oz.
Can I just say a very big thank you- we had a wonderful time in Pink Flamingo- it is a really beautiful, peaceful place and a testimony to all the hard work you obviously both must put in. It will always be a very special memory staying there and you were so kind helping us with Katherine’s eye problem too.

Sunday afternoon in Port Douglas

what to do on a Sunday afternoon in Port Douglas (apart from lazing at the beach…

catch the local Bally Hooley train around town

walk along the marina

find the unusual at the markets, have a massage and buy some local art & craft (nothing is ‘made in china’)

and for more shopping

and after the shopping therapy relax at the beach with a sandwich from ‘Under Wraps’

We finally found the time to thank you for a wonderfull stay in your resort in early February, all & all an unforgettable Australia holiday for us.

We have warmly recommended your place with the Dutch travelling agency www.australiaonline.nl and hope that they will follow our advise to include the Pink Flamingo resort in their program.

Its our plan to certainly return to Australia and Queensland again one day and when we do we will know where to find you.
